Dry Suit Specialty Diver. Surely there have been occasions, during spring or winter, when you have loved to go diving but immediately have thought: “the water will be too cold at this time of year and I am not going to enjoy my dive.” However, you probably know that there are divers who practice the activity throughout the year, also in countries with cold climates. This is because they wear watertight diving suits (dry suits) that allow them to dive into cold water (even under ice). If you are ready to take a step further in your training as a recreational diver, developing new skills and knowledge that will allow you to dive when the water is too cold to wear a wet suit, it is time to sign up for the SSI Dry Suit Diving Specialty Course. During this course you will acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to be able to carry out dives with these types of suits in a comfortable and safe way.
SSI Specialty Course – Dry Suit Diving
If you are already an SSI Open Water Diver or equivalent of any other international diving agency (PADI, ACUC, …) you can sign up for our SSI Dry Suit Diving Specialty Course. This course combines individual study of online teaching material together with 3 dives in the sea under the supervision of your SSI Instructor. The dives will take place on the same day or on different days (not necessarily consecutive).
During this course you will learn and practice specific procedures for diving with a dry suit. While you learn and practice these procedures, you will have the opportunity to reinforce the skills necessary to always maintain safety in these types of dives, such as adequate buoyancy or the handling of eventual emergency situations due to equipment failures.
