Description
PADI Rescue Diver Course
Scuba divers describe the Rescue Diver course as the most challenging, yet most rewarding one. The reason behind is that you learn to prevent and manage problems in the water.
During the course you acquire greater confidence in your skills as a diver, knowing that you can help others if needed. Besides, you will integrate problem solving skills until they become second nature for you. The course has a serious approach, but still allows for lots of laughter in between the learning.
The development of the course prepares you to deal with minor and major scuba diving emergencies using a variety of techniques. Through knowledge development and rescue exercises, you learn what to look for and how to respond. During rescue scenarios, you put into practice your just acquired knowledge and skills.
Some of the topics included:
Self-rescue techniques,
Recognizing and managing stress in other divers,
Emergency management and equipment,
Rescuing panicked divers,
Rescuing unresponsive divers.
During the practical part you will use a basic scuba equipment and a pocket mask to practice in-water resuscitation. We will work with emergency oxygen units, floats, marker buoys and ropes.
You start the course by going through the PADI Rescue Diver manual, and then you participate in the two-days-long practical sessions.
